History of APChem®
A leading chemical manufacturing company. The history of APChem® spans four decades and includes multiple acquisitions and the development of facilities around the world.
The Early Years
1978 Chemical Manufacturing Exchange was built by Larry Gatlin, a pioneer in the oil field and specialty chemicals market.
1980-1982 The North Tank Farm, the “old” section of the South Tank Farm, Warehouse A,C and the Laboratory were constructed. The “new” part of the South Plant and the remainder of the buildings were constructed from early 1980’s on.
1985 PChem owned the facility but operated as Chemical Manufacturing Exchange, they officially changed the name to PChem in 1986
Growth and Acquisitions
2004 Syrgis (owned by Edgewater Capital Investments) acquired the PChem facility.
2012 Weatherford acquired the facility from Syrgis and acquired the additional property to the north increasing the property to approximately 40 acres from its approximately 20 acres.
2014 The Lubrizol Corporation acquired the facility from Weatherford as part of a $750M Engineered Chemistry acquisition.
2017 September 15th 2017 APChem® acquired the facility from Lubrizol Corporation and started a multi-million renovation on the facility to increase efficiencies and production from approximately 60 Million pounds annually to over 80 Million pounds annually.
2024 Aquapharm PChem was acquired by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group
